Mario Balotelli waited a long time to enter the realm of Twitter. Some Liverpool fans want him to return to the digital darkness, following the congratulatory message he sent Raheem Sterling.
Sterling scored his first goal in Manchester City colors Tuesday, striking just three minutes into his new team’s preseason game against Italian club AS Roma.
Balotelli first congratulated Sterling on Twitter for his strike.

Balotelli then tweeted more support for Sterling, despite his acrimonious, £49 million ($76 million) transfer from the Reds to Manchester City earlier this month.

Balotelli infamously flopped in his first season at Liverpool, and his messages about former teammate Sterling didn’t win him many friends in the Twittersphere of Reds fans, according to The Telegraph and ESPN.
Balotelli’s preseason suggests he won’t play much, or any, part of Liverpool’s 2015-16 campaign. The Italian striker reportedly is in the shop window, but there aren’t too many teams lining up to spend Sterling-esque money to acquire his services.
Balotelli scored more goals before he joined Twitter. Just saying.
