The NESN broadcast team must always be prepared.
Omar Infante hit a foul ball during the second inning of Saturday night’s Boston Red Sox-Kansas City Royals game at Fenway Park that headed right for the NESN booth. The hot shot forced both Don Orsillo and Jerry Remy to react, with Orsillo managing to lay a finger on the baseball before scooping it.
It had been a while since Orsillo and Remy landed a souvenir. Surely, they’d prefer much easier catches moving forward, though. Infante’s foul ball had some serious zip on it, so it probably stung.
But hey, nothing a little ice can’t take care of.
