Drew Brees, Brandin Cooks Connect On 45-Yard TD Vs. Patriots (Video)

Brandin Cooks is one of the most talented young wide receivers in the NFL, and he showed his full array of skills on a first-quarter touchdown in the New Orleans Saints’ preseason matchup against the New England Patriots on Saturday night.

The Saints wideout used his speed to run past Patriots defensive backs Devin McCourty and Duron Harmon for a 45-yard score that extended New Orleans’ lead to 15-0.

It was a great throw and catch by Brees and Cooks, who project to be one of the most productive duos for fantasy football owners this season.

Cooks, in particular, is poised for a breakout 2015 campaign. An injury ended his 2014 season early, but he still posted 53 receptions for 550 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games. Cooks was ranked No. 12 on NESN.com’s list of the top 20 receivers for the upcoming fantasy football season.
