The football season hasn’t really started in earnest yet, but we might already have our play of the year.
The Blountstown Middle School (in Florida) football season already is underway, and the team’s quarterback made a play that you’ll need to see multiple times to truly believe.
The young signal caller took the snap at about his own 45-yard line and rolled to his right. A defender looked to have a beat on the quarterback and a sack seemed like a formality. However, the QB evaded the rusher with a cartwheel type of thing and spun loose. He then continued to his right and fired a bomb down the field to a wide receiver who got behind the defense.
The result? A gorgeous touchdown.
That play alone puts him at least No. 2 on the New York Jets’ depth chart.
