Zach Hodskins scored his first career collegiate points Tuesday night, which is a big deal for any college basketball player.
It might be just a little bit bigger for Hodskins, though.
The University of Florida walk-on only has one hand, and late in the Gators’ rout of Jacksonville, Hodskins got some playing time. Hodskins got the ball on the right wing with a defender in his face. After some impressive ball-handling, he spun around the Jacksonville defender and made a move toward the key.
Hodskins went up and got the shot off — while being fouled — and still manged to finish and score.

He missed the free throw, but it obviously didn’t take away from the moment.
“Really happy for Zach, a great young man, obviously overcoming an unbelievable adversity,” Gators coach Mike White said, according to ESPN.com. “He’s a very, very likable young man. You could tell by the decibel level in the O’Dome when he scored. It was a fun moment for our team and for Zach. Proud for him, happy for him.”
