Rich Eisen was ready for the next step.
Eisen has made an annual tradition of running the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine — in a suit, no less — and the NFL Network host really outdid himself Monday at the 2016 event at Lucas Oil Stadium, setting a personal-best mark of 5.94 seconds one year removed from a much more disappointing effort.
Eisen, who channeled his inner Cam Newton at a pre-dash press conference, delighted the crowd with his bounce-back performance, which NFL draft analyst Mike Mayock attributed to Eisen’s “best start ever.”
It appears Eisen, who turns 47 in June, is aging like fine wine these days.
