Blake Griffin’s absence from the Los Angeles Clippers’ lineup is nearing its end.
The five-time All-Star forward will begin his team-imposed four-game suspension Sunday after being medically cleared to play, the Clippers announced Sunday afternoon.

Griffin has not played since Christmas Day, when he suffered a partially torn quadriceps in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers. He then fractured his right hand in a Jan. 23 altercation with a team employee, which resulted in his four-game ban.
Griffin, who has played in just 30 games this season, will be eligible to return to the lineup when the Clippers host the Washington Wizards next Sunday. L.A. has gone 24-17 with Griffin sidelined and entered Sunday with the fourth-best record in the Western Conference.
