Liverpool’s James Milner To Captain England On Tuesday Vs. Netherlands

Liverpool midfielder James Milner is set to captain his country for the first time when England faces the Netherlands on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old has previously only skippered the Three Lions after inheriting the armband during games, but he now will officially take on the honor for an exhibition game at Wembley Stadium.

In the absence of the injured Wayne Rooney, vice-captain Gary Cahill stepped in to lead Roy Hodgson’s side as they beat Germany 3-2 on Saturday in Berlin.

But with changes expected for the meeting with the Dutch, Milner will take on the captaincy as England strives for another confidence-boosting victory against top opposition.
