Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen’s Chef Reveals What Couple Eats On Vacation

We know Tom Brady’s diet is crazy healthy, but certainly he has to loosen up a little while he’s on vacation, right?

Wrong.

The Internet went crazy when Brady and wife Gisele Bundchen’s home chef revealed what the family eats on a daily basis — mostly vegetables, whole grains and absolutely no sugar — and it turns out it’s pretty much the same deal when they’re at their vacation home in Costa Rica. Chef Joanne Gerrard Young, who’s cooked for the Bundchen-Bradys for five years in the Central American country, gave the details to Well and Good’s Katie Maguire.

“They don’t always do raw, but since it’s so easy to do in Costa Rica, we do an 80-20 raw diet, with big colorful salads and lots of fresh veggies,” Young said. “G likes to eat vegetarian sometimes, so we’ll do a grain separate from the protein, and she’s totally into juice cleanses, so she’ll do about one per year.”

In all honesty, Young does have a point about the diet being easier in Costa Rica. A tomato-less, fat-free existence does sound a lot better when you have all sorts of tropical fruits and vegetables at your disposal. We could live with eating some of the recipes Young includes, like Swiss chard spring rolls and vegan coconut mango cream pie.

However, we think we’ll stick to pigging out on vacation instead.
