Jon Jones is slated to return to the octagon for the first time in over a year in April’s UFC 197, but a recent arrest has put his presence at the fight in jeopardy.

“Bones” Jones, the former UFC light heavyweight champion, is scheduled for a rematch with Daniel Cormier, who currently holds the interim belt. The two previously met in January 2015, in a five-round defense of Jones’ belt. Jones took the match by unanimous decision for the eighth defense of his title.

But after an arrest last year, Jones was stripped of his belt and was placed on probation. A recent arrest, in which police officials claimed he was drag racing and slapped him with five different citations, has landed Jones in jail.

UFC released a statement on the situation.

“UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week,” the statement read. “UFC has been in touch with Jones’ legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information.”
