The No. 1 seed Virginia Cavaliers dominated the No. 10 seed Syracuse Orange in the first half of their Elite Eight contest Sunday night, and all they could do was shrug.
Well, that’s a bit of a stretch, especially considering what Darius Thompson did on this shot:

But while that circus shot was noteworthy, Caid Kirven’s rendition of the shrug emoji on Virginia’s bench following the basket is what won the Internet.

Sure, the Cavaliers have a way to go before they hit Monmouth bench territory, but this was a pretty good start.
And Virginia will have the whole offseason to plan more bench celebrations after the Cavaliers’ 68-62 loss to the Orange.
