The North Carolina Tar Heels appear to be in full support of the “make baseball fun again” campaign.
The No. 17 Tar Heels just took two of three games from Notre Dame in ACC play, culminating with an 8-1 laugher Monday night that never really was in doubt.
An early lopsided score — Carolina led 7-0 after two innings thanks to a seven-run second inning — allowed ESPN to interview UNC pitcher Zac Gallen. The junior right-hander shut down the Irish on Friday night with eight innings of two-hit ball while striking out eight and walking only one.
Almost as soon as Gallen’s interview on Monday night’s broadcast started, his Tar Heels teammates quite literally stole the show. As Gallen tried to keep his composure and conduct the interview, his teammates could be seen in the background doing a whole bunch of goofy stuff.
