Euro 2016: Gareth Bale Scores Wales’ First Goal Vs. England In 32 Years

Wales is full of confidence at Euro 2016, and the play of forward Gareth Bale is the primary reason why.

The Real Madrid superstar scored the opening goal of Wales’ Group B game against England on Thursday. It came on a free kick toward the end of the first half, and England goalkeeper Joe Hart probably should’ve saved it.

The goal was Wales’ first against England in 32 years. Bale incredibly has scored nine of the 14 goals Wales has tallied in Euro 2016 qualifying and group play.

Thursday’s game ended in heartbreak for the Welsh, however. Jamie Vardy tied the game in the 56th minute, and Daniel Sturridge scored in stoppage time to give England a 2-1 victory.
