Carter Mock Gets To Just Be A Kid, Thanks To Jimmy Fund, Dana-Farber Doctors

Carter Mock is your typical 8-year-old boy: active, energetic, and in love with exploring the world around him.

But when he developed a limp, doctors took a closer look and discovered a tumor in his leg. After almost a year of battling osteosarcoma and fibroblastic sarcoma that included surgery on his leg, Carter is back to being that adventurous boy full time, and he’s got a new mentor to help him explore.

None of it would have been possible without The Jimmy Fund and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, though.

The 2016 WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon will take place Aug. 29 through 30. You can donate and learn more here.

Hear Carter’s story, as seen on NESN’s “Red Sox First Pitch,” in the video above.
