Colin Kaepernick Vows To Donate Proceeds Of His 49ers Jersey Sales To People In Need

Colin Kaepernick’s decision to not stand during “The Star-Spangled Banner” before San Francisco 49ers games has been the most talked-about topic in sports over the last two weeks.

That amount of news coverage given to Kaepernick, who’s protesting social injustice, probably is among the main reasons why the quarterback’s No. 7 jersey is among the NFL’s top sellers right now. In fact, it’s No. 1 in the league’s official team store.

Kaepernick announced via his Instagram on Wednesday that he will donate his share of those sales to communities in need.

NFL Players Association members receive a two-thirds share of sales from their jerseys, and the union gets the other third, per the agreement with the NFL.

We don’t know the exact amount of money these Kaepernick jersey sales have generated, but it’s good to see him donating that money to people in need.
