David Ross Says Goodbye At Cubs Parade, But First He Had To Take A Selfie
David Ross’ teammates call him “Grandpa Rossy,” but the now-retired catcher still knows what all the cool kids are doing.
The Chicago Cubs celebrated their World Series win Friday with a parade through the city, and Ross got the opportunity to say goodbye to his fans before riding off into the sunset. It was an emotional moment, but Ross still had some fun and captured it with a selfie.
Think what you want about the selfie craze, but that’s a photo Ross likely will cherish.
The Cubs’ World Series win over the Cleveland Indians was Ross’ second, with his first one coming with the Boston Red Sox in 2013. The 39-year-old also became the oldest player to hit a home run in the World Series when he hit a solo shot off reliever Andrew Miller in Game 7.
