Celtics’ Daniel Theis Promises To ‘Master’ Comeback After Knee Surgery

Daniel Theis is on the mend.

The Boston Celtics forward had surgery Thursday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee — an injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the season. And after the surgery, Theis took to Twitter to thank fans for their support, as well as to promise he’ll come back stronger than ever.

Theis shared the following message alongside a photo of him lying on a couch:

“Surgery (insert check-mark emoji) and 1st of all: Thank you guys so much for all your messages the last couple days, it means a lot to me!” Theis wrote. “Now it’s time to start the mission #ComebackStronger and as always I will work my heart out to master it!!!!!”

Theis also added flexing and shamrock emojis, among others.

Let’s hope Theis makes a full and speedy recovery.

The German big man was a huge and pleasant surprise for the C’s this season, averaging 5.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists while logging just 14.9 minutes off the bench per game. Furthermore, his tenacious defense and ability to hit outside shots led to an increased role prior to the injury.

Of course, Theis is far from the only Celtics player currently feeling the effects of the injury bug.
