Patrice Bergeron Injury: Bruins Star Reportedly Could Return Vs. Wild

Patrice Bergeron reportedly is ready to make his much-anticipated return.

The Boston Bruins center has been sidelined nearly a month with a fractured foot — the first shoe to drop in a seemingly endless deluge of injuries for the team. But Friday afternoon, B’s head coach Bruce Cassidy revealed that Bergeron was a medical clearance away from traveling to Minnesota, where the Bruins will square off with the Wild on Sunday.

Well, get excited Boston fans, because Bergeron will make the trip to Minnesota, according to The Boston Globe’s Fluto Shinzawa.

Furthermore, the star center is expected to suit up for either Sunday’s tilt with the Wild or Tuesday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets at TD Garden, according to the Globe’s Kevin Paul Dupont.

Just what the doctor ordered.

Bergeron, of course, is perhaps the most irreplaceable player on the Bruins. Still, the B’s have performed admirably without him and his injured teammates — including a thrilling comeback win over the Dallas Stars on Friday.
