The Boston Red Sox are off to their hottest start ever (literally), and they have their gloves in part to thank.

The Sox kick off a three-game showdown with the New York Yankees on Tuesday boasting an 8-1 record, the best in baseball. Perhaps more impressively, Boston hasn’t committed a single error through nine games, its longest errorless streak ever to begin a season.

That got us thinking: What was the best defensive season in Red Sox history?
