Julian Edelman sure isn't acting like a player whose season is over.

The Patriots receiver, who has been out of game action since Week 7 due to a knee injury, returned to practice this week for New England. It remains unclear whether the Patriots will activate Edelman off injured reserve as their season nears a likely playoff-less end.

But reports all along have indicated Edelman intends to play again this year, and his Instagram activity hardly indicates he's ready to sit out the remainder of the campaign.

Check out this post from Thursday morning:

Though a return from Edelman likely won't help the Patriots qualify for the postseason, that might not be his primary motivation for stepping back onto the field. At 34 years old, it's fair to wonder whether Edelman, who has taken an absolute beating over the course of his career, soon will hang up his cleats for good.

Will he suit up Sunday against the Dolphins? We'll find out in a few days, but the Patriots have yet to rule him out.
