Sunday was a rough day at the office for Josh Allen and the rest of the Bills offense.
Buffalo couldn't get much going offensively in its Week 7 loss at Gillette Stadium. The Bills, to their credit, erased a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit and took a lead with less than two minutes to play, but that was due in large to a brutal late-game blunder by the Patriots. Allen spent most of the afternoon trying to evade New England defenders and frantically running around in hopes of salvaging plays.
The Patriots finished the contest with six quarterback hits and a sack of Allen, who was noticeably frustrated after the Bills dropped to 4-3 on the season. Although facing consistent pressure will irritate any signal-caller, Davon Godchaux believes were able to irk Allen due to a specific approach.

"You have to (get in Allen’s face). He's one of the top three quarterbacks in the NFL. The pressure up the middle is what bothers him," Godchaux told reporters, per Boston.com. "The edge guys can rush all they want but if you've got those B-gaps open where he can step up, you have to get this guy off the spot, you have to rush this guy off the middle. We did a great job today and we're not satisfied."
Sunday must have been a morale booster for a Patriots defense that has battled through sustained adversity, most notably a slew of injuries to key players. And the jolt of confidence came at a good time, as Godchaux and company face a tough assignment Sunday in Miami where a lethal Dolphins offense resides.
