Bill Belichick Rumors: What Ex-Patriots Coach ‘Intends’ For 2025

Bill Belichick will not be on an NFL sideline at the start of the 2024 season, but all eyes will be on his plans for next season.

The former New England Patriots head coach is scheduled for multiple media appearances during the NFL season, including spots with Omaha Productions and “Inside the NFL.” Belichick will be a hot name on the coaching market next offseason, but the lack of interest during the last coaching cycle indicated the league had passed by the 72-year-old.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero was a guest host on “The Rich Eisen Show” on Tuesday and answered multiple questions from the producers and staff. One of those questions asked what Belichick’s head-coaching plans are and what he “intends” to do next year.

“He’s fully invested in he wants to coach again. He wants to pursue the all-time wins record. Those are things that matter a lot to Bill Belichick.”

Belichick needs 15 more wins to break Don Shula’s record for most all-time as an NFL head coach. Pelissero ran through the future Hall of Famer’s options and doubted the Dallas Cowboys due to the structure with Jerry Jones at the helm. The NFL insider said to look out with stable or “blue-blood” organizations for Belichick’s next stop.

Pelissero added that the media appearances for Belichick are part of an image change for a head coach who built a reputation of not being the most media-friendly personality.

“He’ll be trying to remind you that he’s not Darth Vader, that there’s more to Bill Belichick,” Pelissero said. “He’s done a good job of that too, so far.”

Fans will have to wait and see where Belichick’s next stop will be, and it would make for incredible drama if the legendary head coach could face New England after he was let go by the organization.
