It's only natural for a fan base to go crazy over a quarterback who impressed in college, but there's a long list that failed to live up to the hype.

Lamar Jackson received buzz from Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh as a player who could go down as one of the best the NFL has ever seen. It's a lot of pressure to put on a quarterback who didn't reach a Super Bowl in his first six seasons. However, it did spark a debate on "Boston Has Entered The Chat."

NESN's George Balekji and Ountae Campbell named who they thought were the most overhyped NFL quarterbacks of all time. They primarily selected players who had a lot of buzz in college and failed to follow up on that in the pros.

Zach Wilson was one name that came to mind given his viral pro day and hype at BYU that didn't translate after he was drafted by the New York Jets. Campbell noted Vince Young had his moment in the Rose Bowl against USC and even was on the cover of a "Madden" video game but didn't live up to any of those accolades in his NFL career. Balekji had Jimmy Garoppolo on his list due to the fascination people had when he was drafted by the New England Patriots. Garoppolo took the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl but didn't live up to his massive contract.
