Gable Steveson found glory at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but he's struggled to maintain success since winning the gold medal.

Steveson made his first WWE appearance at SummerSlam in 2021. He made brief appearances on television, including with fellow Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle. The 24-year-old had one televised match in his three-year WWE career, which received poor reviews.

After he was quietly released in May, Steveson signed with the Buffalo Bills despite never playing football in his life. He appeared in the preseason, but according to NFL Media's Mike Garofolo, he was waived as part of roster cutdowns Tuesday.

Stevenson's release doesn't necessarily end his career as a defensive lineman. He will have to wait until after roster cutdowns and the waiver period to see if he will make it onto either the Bills' or another team's practice squad.

If he doesn't, Stevenson might have to find another path in his athletic career.
