Boston sports radio’s outspoken personality Tony Massarotti has been very vocal about what he thinks the Red Sox should do with their roster.

The Sports Hub’s “Felger & Mazz” co-host took to social media to push his agenda at the beginning of April.

“If I’m the Red Sox, I start playing Roman Anthony at first base in Worcester,” Massarotti posted on his personal X account.

To add fuel to the fire, the WooSox themselves posted a video of Anthony working on ground ball drills Saturday. Anthony shot down the rumors on Tuesday that the organization is working on moving him from the outfield to first base.

“I don’t think it’s true,” Anthony told reporters at Polar Park, per the Worcester Telegram & Gazette’s Tommy Cassell. “But, I’ve heard it, yeah. That’s just outfield work that I started with (Jose Flores) last year when I get here. … Nothing to do with first, just outfield stuff.”

Cassell also said that WooSox manager Chad Tracy refuted the notion before the question was finished.

“We’re not putting him at first base. No,” Tracy said, per Cassell. “There has been no conversation about putting him at first; we’re getting him ready to play left field.”

Anthony has been serving as Worcester’s designated hitter since April 10 after a minor shoulder injury prevented the top Red Sox prospect from playing in the field. He could return to the field Wednesday if his right shoulder is pain-free, per Cassell.
