Bruins Got Back to Their Type of Hockey in Game 3, Will Need Similar Effort to Build on Series Lead in Game 4 Tim Thomas may have said it best following his team's Game 3 win over the Lightning on Thursday when he proclaimed that it was "Boston Bruins hockey" that paved the way for the B's to grab a 2-1 series lead.

The Bruins got back to the type of hockey that they're used to playing, with an emphasis on defense, discipline and composure, and it paid off with a 2-0 win to give them the lead in the Eastern Conference final.

NESN.com's Bruins reporter Douglas Flynn told FOXSportsFlorida.com in the feature "Across Enemy Lines" that the style of play the Bruins showed on Thursday is what they've been searching for, and that's the type of play that should be expected from them going forward.

"The Bruins got back to playing their game," he said. "Game 2 was very atypical of the Bruins under Claude Julien, while the effort in Game 3 was much more in line with how the Bruins usually play and likely what you'll continue to see the rest of the series. I really doubt there will be another 6-5 game in this series or that the Lightning will get the kind of constant scoring chances they got in Game 2 again."

Flynn did acknowledge that Bruins will need the same kind of effort in Game 4, perhaps an even better effort, as the Lightning will be desperately trying to avoid falling into a 3-1 hole.
