Dale Sveum Young But Experienced, Brings Wealth of Offensive Knowledge to TableDale Sveum was back in Boston.

The former Red Sox third base coach was in town recently to interview for the Red Sox vacant managerial role.

Sveum was in Boston from 2004-05, helping out former Brewers teammate and then-Boston manager Terry Francona win the club's first World Series title in almost 90 years.

Playing experience: Played in a total of 12 major league seasons between 1986 and 1999 as an infielder. Spent time with Milwaukee, Seattle, Philadelphia, Oakland, Pittsburgh, New York (AL) and Chicago (AL). Posted career highs in games (153), hits (135), runs (86) doubles (27), home runs (25) and RBIs (95) in 1987 with Milwaukee.

Major league managerial record: 7-5 (12 games as interim manager in 2008). 1-3 in 2008 postseason.

Other coaching experience: Altoona Curve manager 2001-03, Boston Red Sox third base coach 2004-05, Milwaukee Brewers third base coach 2006, Milwaukee Brewers bench coach 2007, Milwaukee Brewers third base coach 2008, Milwaukee Brewers manager 2008, Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach 2009-present.
