Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask stretched to his left as an Islanders shot whipped past his outstretched glove and the net before harmlessly hitting the boards.
The harm was in front of the net, where Rask’s stretch left him in what appeared to be some serious pain. His attempt to snag the puck left his legs split apart and seemingly extended beyond Rask’s comfort.
Rask fell backward and was eventually helped off the ice by two teammates. The extent of the injury was not immediately known, but Tim Thomas took over in the net for the Bruins.
