Report: Marlins Open to Trading Hanley RamirezHanley Ramirez may really be falling out of favor in Miami.

After reports surfaced last week that the Marlins offered Ramirez in a deal to the Red Sox, it looks like Miami's efforts to trade him haven't quite stopped. According to CBSSports.com's Scott Miller, rival executives who have spoken with the Marlins believe the team has "never been more open" to the idea of trading Ramirez.

Clearly, the Marlins are looking to make some changes in the midst of what's been a disappointing season. The club significantly increased its payroll this past offseason, but the results haven't been there, especially for Ramirez. The controversial infielder is hitting just .246 this season after struggling in his 92 games last season. When you couple that drop in production with his polarizing ways, Ramirez seems like a likely trade candidate as the Marlins become active leading up to the July 31 trade deadline.

On Monday, the Fish dealt Anibal Sanchez and Omar Infante to the Tigers. Miller reports that the Marlins aren't necessarily looking to blow things up, though. They're instead reportedly looking to change the ingredients this season.

Ramirez, a three-time All-Star who won a batting title in 2009, is sidelined with an infection in his hand. It apparently developed when the 28-year-old didn't take his medication following an incident in which he hurt his hand punching a cooling fan. Manager Ozzie Guillen wasn't pleased at the time of the incident, and the front office probably wasn't either. After all, it doesn't exactly give the Marlins any leverage in a potential deal.
