Terry Francona Would Like to Manage Again, But Only Under Right CircumstancesTerry Francona seems to have adapted just fine to his role as a baseball analyst, but that doesn't mean managing is completely out of his mind.

"If something down the road presents itself and it's the right job, I'd like to do it," Francona told USA Today. "But I don't want to manage just to manage."

Francona might not exactly be itching to get back on the bench, but at least we know that there's a little something inside him that wants to give managing another whirl. It remains to be seen what the managerial landscape will look like in the offseason, but you can bet Francona will likely receive plenty of phone calls regarding open positions. That comes with the territory when you win two World Series titles in eight years in Boston.

Francona probably won't end up in Chicago alongside former Red Sox general manager and current Cubs president Theo Epstein — seeing as how Dale Sveum was just hired last offseason — but that didn't stop Epstein from dishing out some praise.

"Tito would be an impact hire for any team with an opening," Epstein said. "From talking to him, his year in the booth has [added perspective]. I think whichever team lands Tito will be getting an elite manager at just the right time."

For now, Francona will remain in the booth. But each time he calls a game, don't be surprised if he's doing a little more scouting than usual.
