Dirk Nowitzki Set to Miss Six Weeks Following Arthroscopic Right Knee SurgeryDALLAS — Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki will be out at least six weeks after arthroscopic surgery on his ailing right knee.

The Mavericks said surgery was performed Friday morning by a team surgeon. The 11-time All-Star is expected to resume on-court activities in about six weeks.

The 34-year-old Nowitzki has missed the past three preseason games with fluid buildup in the knee.

The 2001 NBA Finals MVP had knee trouble early last season as well, eventually sitting out four games before playing the rest of the season without significant trouble.
