Boston is freezing and Opening Day is still more than two months away, but Fenway Park already has a baseball feel to it.
That’s because the Red Sox will be hosting the Winterfest Video Game Tournament at the ballpark on Saturday, Jan. 26. The event, which will transform the Fenway Park suites into an arcade, will take place 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The bracket-style tournament will feature three divisions — 10 and under, 16 and under and open — and will allow participants to play MLB 12: The Show’s Home Run Derby and Sony Playstation Move at America’s Most Beloved Ballpark. Fans will also have an opportunity to play against Red Sox third baseman Will Middlebrooks.
Those interested in joining the festivities can register at redsox.com. Registration closes at 4:59 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.
Fenway Park will also be home to open tryouts for National Anthem and public address announcer candidates on Saturday. All are welcomed to showcase their talents as part of the tryouts.
