Major League Baseball released its 2014 schedule Tuesday, and there are some interesting matchups for the Red Sox.
The Sox will start next season on the road, as they will head down to Baltimore to take on the Orioles for the opener on March 31. That will kick off a three-game series between the AL East rivals. The roadstand will be short-lived, though. The Red Sox will then return home to Boston for their home opener at Fenway Park on April 4 against the Milwaukee Brewers. According to MLB.com, it will be the first time the Sox opened their home schedule against the Brewers since 1975.
The Red Sox’ season ends with a three-game series Sept. 26-28 against the Yankees.
The Red Sox will take on Atlanta, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, the Cubs and Milwaukee for interleague games. They will have home-and-home season series with the Braves and Reds, and they will host the Brewers (home opener) and the Cubs.
