To be fair, 99.9 percent of the time, Cam Fowler can get on and off the ice with the best of them, but it’s that 0.1 percent that made for some slippery comedy on Friday night.

The 21-year-old defenseman went through a series of unfortunate events during the third period as the Ducks were taking on the Tampa Bay Lightning. While Fowler was anticipating a line change, he perched himself up on the boards, but quickly and awkwardly lost his balance, tumbling right down to the ice.

Unfortunately, the embarrassment didn’t end there for the young player, as the fall understandably disoriented Fowler. The Anaheim defenseman was left wondering what his next move should be as he scampered back to the bench and quickly turned back toward the ice. The gaffe finally concluded with him climbing back over and taking a seat.

The episode didn’t go unnoticed either, as Fowler was greeted by Hampus Lindholm on the bench, who was unable to suppress his laughter at what had just unfolded in front of him.
