Boston Bruins winger Milan Lucic doesn’t drop the gloves a whole lot nowadays, but when he does, he always gives the fans a good showing.
That was the case Monday afternoon, when Lucic took offense to a hit Los Angeles Kings forward Jordan Nolan landed on Bruins defenseman Torey Krug, whom Nolan outweighs by roughly 50 pounds. Lucic and Nolan are both among the largest skaters on their respective teams, and their ensuing fight was a classic battle between two heavyweights.
Nolan landed a solid right to the back of Lucic’s head, but Lucic ultimately came out on top, peppering the third-year center with fists until the officials stepped in to break it up. Krug got some level of retribution as well, scoring on the power play less than four minutes later to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead after one period.
