BOSTON — There was some question as to whether Edmonton Oilers defenseman Andrew Ference would be on the ice for his first return to Boston since signing with Edmonton in the summer. Ference had missed three straight games with a head injury, but Ference declared himself good to go Saturday morning.
The veteran defenseman met with the Boston media prior to Saturday afternoon’s game against the Bruins, and he said that he was cleared a couple of days ago and was ready to go.
Ference hasn’t played at TD Garden since the Bruins lost Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final to the Chicago Blackhawks this past June.
