The Philadelphia Flyers locked up defenseman Andrew MacDonald with a multiyear contract extension, the team announced Tuesday.
The Flyers acquired MacDonald near this year’s trade deadline from the New York Islanders, and he contributed four assists in 19 games, logging more than 20 minutes of ice time in 14 of those contests.
The deal reportedly is for six years and worth $30 million, Dave Issac of the Courier-Post reported, citing a league source.
MacDonald, 27, has 17 goals and 76 assists in 314 career games. His Flyers open their first-round playoff series against the New York Rangers on Thursday night.
