Thiago Silva scored to put Brazil ahead in the seventh minute of Friday’s World Cup quarterfinal game against Colombia, and his team went on to win 2-1 and advance to the semifinals against Germany.
Unfortunately for Brazil, Silva won’t be available for that game after running into Colombian goalie David Ospina.
Though it likely was just a mental error on Silva’s part, the stunt drew a yellow card — his second of the tournament — so Brazil’s captain will be suspended for the next game.
