Another day, another Rajon Rondo trade rumor.
This one comes from Marc Stein of ESPN.com and Zach Lowe of Grantland, and it’s a rumor in the truest sense of the word.
Indiana Pacers, I'm told, have tried to engage Phoenix in trade talks for Goran Dragic, but teams have found no common deal ground. Yet

Something to keep an eye on, though, with Indy known to covet an upgrade at PG and stubborn perception Suns can't afford Bledsoe AND Dragic

Pacers have little on the fringes to entice Phoenix on Dragic.Their interest, per @ESPNSteinLine, might hint at bigger discussions.

Whispers are already out there, @ZachLowe_NBA, about Indy trying to pull in Boston to construct some sort of multi-team deal involving Rondo

Attention cut-and-paste feeds w/reading comprehension issues: Indy's target is Goran Dragic. That's what @ZachLowe_NBA and I were discussing

So, in essence, the Indiana Pacers reportedly are looking to acquire point guard Goran Dragic from the Phoenix Suns but do not have enough pieces to build a satisfactory trade package. That’s where the Boston Celtics come in, as the Pacers would pull in them as a third team in the deal, with Rondo presumably going to Phoenix.
No terms, details or other players have been mentioned in connection with the reported trade, though, meaning that if it is being discussed, it likely is not near completion.
And, for what it’s worth, a source told Sporting News’ Sean Deveney that the Suns and Dragic aren’t keen on parting ways.
“No, no, no,” the source said. “Nothing to that. The team and Goran, they’re still committed to each other.”
Welcome to the NBA offseason, ladies and gentlemen.
