One of Hockey East’s best officially is a member of the Boston Bruins.

The team announced Monday that it signed former Providence Friars forward Noel Acciari to an entry-level contract. Acciari tallied a team-high 15 goals for the NCAA champs in 2015, as well as 17 assists.

“I’m really happy for him,” Providence coach Nate Leaman told The Providence Journal’s Mark Divver on Monday. “He brought so much to team as far as leadership, scoring big goals. He helped build our culture. He helped build a championship program. We’ll always be very proud of Noel, no doubt about that.”

The 23-year-old Johnston, R.I., native was this year’s NCAA East Regional Most Outstanding Player, Hockey East Defensive Player of the Year and was named to the NCAA All-East Regional Team. In three seasons with the Friars, Acciari amassed 32 goals, 33 assists and 65 points in 113 games.
