Max Talbot, Jonas Gustavsson Won’t Play In Bruins’ Preseason Finale

Two Boston Bruins players will not be in the ice Friday night as their team closes out its preseason schedule.

Head coach Claude Julien told reporters Friday morning that winger Max Talbot and goalie Jonas Gustavsson would not travel to the nation’s capital for the Bruins’ matchup with the Washington Capitals.

Talbot, whom Boston acquired from the Colorado Avalance at last season’s trade deadline, has been fighting for a roster spot as a fourth-liner. Gustavsson, who attended Bruins training camp on a tryout basis, is competing with Jeremy Smith for the team’s backup goalie job.
