The Chicago Blackhawks re-acquired forward Andrew Ladd on Thursday from the Winnipeg Jets.

Ladd, 30, leaves his captain’s C behind in Winnipeg and goes to Chicago along with Matt Fraser and Jay Harrison. Ladd previously played in Chicago for two-and-a-half seasons, winning a Stanley Cup in 2010. He was traded to the then-Atlanta Thrashers later that summer, went with the franchise to Winnipeg in 2011 and had been there ever since.

The Jets received top prospect Marko Dano, Chicago’s 2016 first-round draft selection and a conditional 2018 draft choice in exchange for Ladd, who will be an unrestricted free agent after the season.

Both clubs reacted to the deal on Twitter.

Ladd ranks fifth in Jets franchise history with 305 points in 429 games, and he led the team in scoring three times. He also won a Stanley Cup in 2006, as a rookie with the Carolina Hurricanes.
