The Tampa Bay Lightning were no match for Jonas Gustavsson on Monday night, pelting the Boston Bruins goaltender with 42 shots but failing to put even one past him.
It easily was Gustavsson’s best performance as a Bruin, and it might have even been his best as an NHL netminder, with those 42 saves representing a new career high.
But on a night in which he silenced the likes of Steven Stamkos, the veteran goalie was unable to solve one piece of Lightning property in Boston’s 1-0 overtime win: the Gatorade bottle positioned atop his net.
