The Winnipeg Jets are in a pretty good spot entering the first round of the 2016 NHL Draft on Friday night.
They hold the No. 2 pick, which gives them the opportunity to select between ultra-talented Finnish wingers Patrik Laine and Jesse Puljujärvi — assuming the Toronto Maple Leafs take Auston Matthews with the top pick.
So, it’s not surprising that Winnipeg has received interest from at least one other team regarding the second overall selection.
Jets today received a very significant offer for the No. 2 pick. But as of now sticking with the pick…

The Jets didn’t meet expectations last season, but the future is bright. Winnipeg’s prospect pool is loaded, in addition to the impressive talent already on its NHL roster. Kyle Connor, whom the Jets selected in the first round last year, was the best player in college hockey in 2015-16 (sorry, Jimmy Vesey).
The Jets could trade the No. 2 pick for additional assets, but the best option probably would be to draft Laine.
