Nate Diaz Goes Off On Conor McGregor, Eddie Alvarez: ‘F— Them Both’

Nate Diaz might make other plans for Nov. 12.

Conor McGregor will fight Eddie Alvarez — not Diaz — in the main event of UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden. Diaz, who defeated McGregor at UFC 196 before losing their rematch at UFC 202, isn’t too impressed by the scheduled bout, and he made that perfectly clear when asked about it by MMAFighting.com.

“F— them both,” Diaz said, according to the website. “You know both those little bitches are afraid to fight me. That’s why they are fighting each other.”

McGregor and Diaz both expressed interest in a third head-to-head matchup after their second welterweight fight in August. The rivalry was put on hold, though. McGregor, who currently holds the UFC featherweight championship, instead will look to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes at the same time when he battles Alvarez for the UFC lightweight belt.

“And tell (UFC president) Dana (White) I said, ‘Get off Conor’s nuts,’ ” Diaz added of the McGregor-Alvarez showdown, according to MMAFighting.com. “I left my room to that fight at 176 (pounds), so when I fought I was probably 173. Quit telling people I was a monster to make him look good. I’ve been a lightweight my whole career.”

To no one’s surprise, the always boisterous McGregor exchanged words with Alvarez at Tuesday’s UFC 205 press conference. But the buildup still has a long way to go before it reaches the hype that surrounded the McGregor-Diaz rematch. And Diaz doesn’t sound too happy about not facing either fighter come November in New York.

“Eddie said I was next after Gilbert (Melendez), then I called him a bitch in the lobby and he turned the fight down repeatedly until I beat Conor,” Diaz said, according to MMAFighting.com. “Then he called every day asking for the fight. Bitch. What kind of fighters are these guys?”
