Sammy Watkins Injury: Bills Wide Receiver Will Play Thursday Vs. Jets

Despite dealing with soreness in his surgically repaired foot, Sammy Watkins is a go Thursday night.

The Buffalo Bills star young wide receiver had question marks surrounding his status for “Thursday Night Football” against the New York Jets, and multiple reports had doctors concerned about letting Watkins play. But the 23-year-old has been adamant all week that he’d be good to go during the short week, and he’ll at least make the 46-man roster when kickoff arrives.

Of course, Watkins was active in Week 1 and never made much of an impact, catching just four passes for 43 yards and no scores in Buffalo’s dismal 13-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Despite Watkins’ active status, we’re still not high on starting him in fantasy football leagues Thursday because he’ll play through pain, and as a result, we’re uncomfortable going with Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor, too.
