Being a famous athlete has a lot of perks, especially when you're on a good team that wins a lot of stuff — because apparently, winning a lot of stuff on a good team means you can make a lot of money by selling it many years later.

Montreal Canadiens legend Jacques Laperriere has taken to auctions to get a little something out of his victory-filled career. He accumulated six Stanley Cup rings during his 12-year tenure in the NHL before earning two more as an assistant with the Canadiens.

Eight rings are far too many for Laperriere to wear on his fingers, especially when he can make bank by letting someone else wear them.

Yahoo Sports reports that Classic Auctions is helping the NHL great get rid of some of his most prized possessions. The auction house has been previously employed by the likes of King Clancy, Yvon Lambert and Gordie Howe.

So what's on the market? Four championship rings — including the 1992-93 one, which features 24 diamonds to symbolize the number of Cup wins for Montreal. It sold for a whopping $10,721 (how's that for anyone who claims that nobody cares about hockey?).

Laperriere is also selling his his Hall of Fame ring, a replica glass panel of the one inside the Hall, and his Hall of Fame head shot.

Wonder how much that'll go for?
