The oldest, fiercest rivalry in hockey returns on Thursday when the Habs head to the Hub for the first time this season. After dispatching the Canadiens in four games in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals last spring, the Bruins will look to continue their success against the new-look Montreal squad.

Montreal changed the landscape of its top forwards in the offseason by acquiring Mike Cammalleri, Brian Gionta and Scott Gomez, so don't expect the 23-time Stanley Cup champions to roll over for the B's this season.

In anticipation of the season-opening matchup between two of the NHL's Original Six teams, NESN has you covered with in-depth analysis on the rivalry and a look into the past at some memorable Bruins-Canadiens games.
