Bruins goaltender Dany Sabourin, who was called up to the Bruins last week, has been sent back to the AHL's Providence Bruins, general manager Peter Chiarelli announced on Monday.

Sabourin was recalled last Friday to fill in for Tuukka Rask, who was unavailable to back up Tim Thomas due to a lower-body injury. Monday's move indicates that Rask is likely ready to rejoin the Bruins, though whether that is in a starting role or as a backup is still unclear. The Bruins play Tuesday night in Toronto amid a road trip that has them playing seven games in seven different cities over 11 days.
