NEW YORK — LaDainian Tomlinson says Brett
Favre
gave no indication whether he would return for another season when
the two chatted recently about playing for the Minnesota Vikings.

Tomlinson, who signed a two-year deal with the
New York Jets on Sunday, met with Vikings officials in Minnesota last
Thursday about the prospect of joining the team. He says Tuesday that he
also heard from Favre, who didn't say much.

Favre played the 2008 season with the Jets
after a messy split with the Green Bay Packers. He signed with the
Vikings last offseason and helped Minnesota get within a game of the
Super Bowl.

Tomlinson says he got no hint of Favre's plans
and didn't ask out of respect for the quarterback.
